MINDSET AND MENTAL HEALTH – MY STORY

It doesn’t matter how many mindset tools you have in your kit and how successful you are at helping others when tragedy happens to you – it can knock you off your feet. And it did.

It was 2015, on the outside I appeared to have it all – sports car, marathon runner, nice designer clothes and bags. The only thing missing was the one thing I truly desired: a family of my own. Despite the years racing by, I believed this would happen and was, on the whole, happy until one day, my life changed. Forever. If you could have been there with me that day, you would not have seen joy or happiness on my face. You would have seen despair and worry because clad in an immaculate white lab coat and sitting across from behind a desk strewn with photos of her husband and children, was my doctor. She delivered the news that I was dreading the most. “Miss Turner, I’m sorry to inform you the prognosis is not good. `The chances of you ever conceiving a child is less than five per cent.” How would you feel if this was your dream? Everything that you wished for in your life, taken away from you in an instant? I was distraught. For the first time, I knew what depression was. I despised myself. I felt like half a woman, and I even thought about suicide.

A few months later, I visited my Nana and shared my news with her. Her words and wisdom dramatically changed my outlook for the better, and that day, I went home and decided to make changes. I decided to be kind to myself and choose a different reality. Instead of asking, “Why me?” I started asking better questions. 

I studied in more depth how when you change your mind, you change your brain, in particular, how we can instruct new genes to create neural pathways that bring about positive changes in the mind and body.

And lastly, as I explored my faith, it started to make more sense. There was a purpose to my struggle. It was to encourage me to guide others through their heartache, tragedy and pain.

My Background

Let me tell you a little about my background. I was born and raised in the North East of England.

I graduated with an MA from University and began my working career in the UK in Child Protection, where I coached vulnerable children and adults to achieve positive change in their lives. My passion for Coaching then led to me further qualify as a Life Coach and Hypnotherapist.

My first taste of entrepreneurial life started in 2004 when I bought my first buy to let property and quickly amassed a small property portfolio. I then established a coaching and hypnotherapy practice.

Despite having a successful career in the UK, I was burnt out and needed a change, so I moved to Dubai in 2010 to pursue a  completely new career in Financial Sales. After achieving a high level of success in this industry which resulted in me becoming one of the best newcomers in the company (I accomplished this level of success because I committed daily to managing my mindset with daily visualisation), I left the business.

I have now taken my years of experience and crafted it into pieces of training and downloadable meditations that you can apply to alter your mindset so that you can achieve unstoppable success in your life and business.

I have put `pen to paper` to write my first book—a 30-day guide to motivate and inspire you to bring about transformation in your life (UPDATE: After writing about two thirds of the book I stopped! 1 Year Later – I am ready to start writing again and get it finished!)

I am also the host of two successful podcasts: The Zoe Turner Podcast and The Calm Mind Podcast.  The former focuses on mindset, mental health and business, and the latter is dedicated specifically to my Guided Visualisations and Hypnotherapy Recordings.  Both to designed to boost your mindset.
